Super Heroes Do Exist
One day this past summer I was on hands and knees working in the rock garden fighting with the dandelions, thistles and quack grass that had taken up residence under and around every single rock. I was hot, tired and very sore. I was also thinking how wonderful it would be if some Superhero would just swoop down and say, “Hey, I’m here to help!”. It was right at that moment I felt a shadow above me. I looked up and there, on the sidewalk, stood a young man with the biggest smile looking down at me. He wore a green shirt and cap with a logo patch “Lawn Buster”.
“Do you have a cape?” I asked. He laughed and said, “Maybe”.
That was the day I met Nick. The hardest working, most polite young man I’ve met in a very long time.
I hired him on the spot! He and his crew showed up the next day and have worked all summer to get our little piece of paradise back to what we’ve worked so hard to achieve over the years.
Every Friday the lawn gets mowed, the weeds get pulled, the pruning magically happens. If we need help lifting or moving heavy objects he’s right there with “I can do that for you”.
Fall maintenance will be done just in time for his crew to clear snow as it appears without us having to even pick up the phone to call someone. And come next Spring, this young superhero will be keeping everything green and tidy again so we can just enjoy our yard.
